Man I can't believe it's been since January since I've posted here. Things have just been really busy which has been wonderful and I can't complain at all. I've met a lot of awesome people, taken some amazing photographs, and learned so much over the last six months. Ok so I am pleased to announce that I will be participating in this years 2011 Adorable National Child's portrait contest. This contest is being sponsored by one of my professional labs I use for printing. The national Grand prize for the child who wins is $1500.00!! There will also be prizes for second and third place as well and honorable mention. I will also be giving out prizes for local winners as well!

Grand prize winner will receive a free 16x20 print of their winning image and a $50.00 Visa gift card. There will also be 6 runners up who will also receive a 16x20 print of their image as well.

I will be offering 30 minute mini sessions in honor of the contest. The session fee will only be $35.00 and will include a free 5x7 of submitted entry. This is for one child only. Each additional child is $10.00. Full sessions are still available at the full session price. Portraits from full or mini sessions will be eligible to be entered into the contest. Any photograph being submitted HAS to have been taken by Stefany Tyree Photography. Please have ideas about what you would like for your child to wear during the shoot and keep in mind we are shooting for the contest. If you have any ideas you would like to share as far as ideas for your shoot please feel free to share them or I can give you ideas as well.

Where has the time gone?

I still can hardly believe that we are two weeks away from Christmas. My last blog post was in July which is still hard for me to believe. Well there has been many wonderful things going that I would love to share with you all. I've finished up another photography class, met some wonderful new clients, and have been editing for days. Here tonight I wanna share some of which I've been working on. =)

This is one of the 4 projects I did for my photo sequence class. It's one picture divided up. To me I feel like I'm looking through a window at this magnificent view. God shows us beauty all the time. We just have to stop and see it.

Now my babies. Let me tell you those girls are truly a gift from God. Those smiles and those little voices every time I hear them say my name. My darling daughters you are so very cherished.

Wow! I cannot believe how long it's been since I have updated my blog. I had a tragedy in my family at the beginning May and my spirit and heart was crushed. I was in mourning for the first two weeks and then it slowly started to ease up.... which everyday is still a challenge but my family and I are slowly moving forward. Any how I have had some amazing clients in the mean time and want so badly to get the pictures posted so I can share these amazing clients of mine. Photographs are a moment in time that you can never get back and I'm so glad to be able to capture that for my family and wonderful clients. So last year I was blessed to work with so many great families and kids. I am hoping for so much more this year and thank God everyday for the wonderful things that are going on in my life. He has blessed me in so many ways and I will forever be indebted to him. So with all that said, I feel that I have built quite a portfolio over the past two years and have worked very hard to get where I'm at today. So new prices for the 2010 season. There will also be some policy changes as well. Some Awesome Band Photos, Adorable Little Boys and Me and My Beauty

First of all let me start by saying that I have been a bad blogger. I have been busy busy busy lately which in turn is no excuse so I'm gonna redeem myself by sharing some photos that I have enjoyed so much. I got the opportunity to photograph some amazing bands that put on a benefit concert for Haiti relief efforts. It was amazing. These guys and girls did an amazing job and raised well over $100,000 that Gleaning for the World will be able to use to provide supplies to those who lost everything in the devastation.

Secondly, a good friend of mine from high school gave me the opportunity to photograph his adorable children. They were wonderful to work with and the pictures speak for themselves. Thanks again Derrick your kids are amazing.

Last but not least, I got to take my beautiful Serena to a mother daughter dinner @ her school. It was very formal so we dressed up for the occasion. God blessed me with two of the greatest kids ever and everyday I am so thankful to him for that.

Sneak Peek for Nikkie! Baby Chase

So I work with a incredibly sweet girl at the "salvage yard" and she asked me to photograph her sweet little two month old adorable baby boy named Chase. Well I didn't quite know the adorableness (is that a word) that I was in for. This little fella was an absolute doll! Dilks Wedding

So I got asked to photograph a wedding on Halloween and I accepted. I thought oh man this is going to be so cool! A wedding on halloween. I was expecting something geared toward the spooky holiday if you will but what I got was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to. The bride was beautiful, the decorations, were beautiful, the location was beautiful and it was the most perfect day that anyone could have asked for. It had been cloudy at the first part of the day but as the minutes past the sun came out in all it's glory. Needless to say it did rain but we had gotten all of the formals done before the sky opened up. =) So enough will all my rambling. Jennifer and Rob are an awesome couple and I wish them many, many, years of happiness, love, and a marriage that lasts forever.

So I've been a bad blogger lately but..... I'm starting to slowly but surely get caught up. Thank goodness! So the first set of pics I'm gonna post are of a beautiful little family that I got the opportunity to photograph again. The are awesome to work with and have the most adorable little baby boy! So yesterday it was beautiful outside and I was fortunate enough to be able to spend the entire day with my beautiful little girls. We played outside and of course I had my camera. Oh how they loved posing for mom in the trees and looking at the "pond" as Haeley called the creek. =) I am so blessed and can't thank God enough for those two beautiful little angels. They are the "loves" of my life. One smile, one kiss, one hug, or just hearing the words "mommy" is enough to make my heart melt. With all that said I will leave you with a quote I read today. Well it's been a while since I have posted. I have been super busy with school, work, my little Angels, shoots, and somewhere in between having a personal life. I am not going to sit here and bore you to death with all the reasons why I haven't been blogging. I do want to share one quote with you though that is very personal and makes me really stop and evaluate all the good things in my life. Serena, Sadie and Bailey's Birthday Party

So over the weekend we had the girls' birthday party. We had a slumber party at Amazement Square and I have to say that we had an absolute BLAST! We had the whole place to ourselves for about 3 hours before we had to lay down and watch a movie. Boy was I sore the next day from all the climbing and sliding! So I got to do a Senior session on Saturday. I planned on doing different locations but we got rained out. Some of the ones I did get were in the pouring down rain, but she was a champ and we kept going and got some awesome shots. She is a beautiful girl and loves the camera and did an awesome job in front of it. I really hope they are happy with them and I have more to share but have to get them edited first. The Cutest Thing I Think I Have EVER Seen!

Serena was in her room singing to a Hannah Montana song. She had a microphone and was belting out the song while dancing on top of a stool. Haeley caught wind of what was going on in "sissy's" room and then she was off! Into Serena's room and very nicely asked to see it. Serena handed it over and Haeley started acting like her "big sissy"! I had to photograph her. It was so cute and so was Serena, I couldn't resist!!! Hope you get a kick out of them just like I have. Photographs are what captures a memory forever and allows me to show the world the joy I see in my children. They are awesome little girls and God blessed me when he gave them to me. Baby Bears!

I have to share these! Someone I know rescued these adorable little babies who had gotten lost from their mom or (Lord forbid) something happened to her. They have been turned over to the game warden and will be taking care of. So here are the precious little babies! These men and women are awesome and provide our community with a service that most people could handle, me being one of them. Here they are training on how to extract a person from a vehicle that has rolled over, hit a tree, or any type of crash where a person would have to be "cut" out of the vehicle. My hat's off to them. They do an amazing job.

It's just that she is much easier to get along with when it comes to modeling for me than Serena is because you give Haeley a stick and a bag of candy and she is ready to roll and well with Serena after the first 5 to 10 minutes she is ready to quit so that is why poor Haeley is the main subject of all my pictures lately! Something different....

Ok so here are some pictures of Haeley that she LET me take the other day. Got this old chair from a good friend of mine. She has an awesome store From Shabby to Chic on 221 in Forest. Awesome store check it out. So I bought the rocking chair to use as a photography prop and I'm so glad I did. I only got a few minutes with Haeley to do this because that is all she would withstand but then we got joined by Serena so I got a little more time, but......... then granny and the cat came and well Haeley had better things to do. So then the cat decided to head to the chair so I used her as a model! So I got some practice after all and boy was it work! So on another note.... It's so fun looking back at pictures of my kids. I love the one's where they don't expect it and they are just so innocent. Their dreamers and I am so glad that God let's me be apart of that with them everyday. Ok so have had a pretty interesting weekend. Friday I went on a field trip with Serena. We got to ride an Amtrak from Lynchburg to Charlottesville and that was really fun! I got some pics and will be posting them. It was so cool to see all the kids and how they reacted to being on a train for the first time. The only thing that made me a little queazy about the whole trip was there was one little boy who was going "ahhhh we're going to crash" and so you can imagine he wasn't my biggest fan at 6:00 in the morning flying about 50mph on a train. So with all that said we made it and we're safe and had an absolutely great time.

Saturday Debbie and I went to the BlueRidge Parkway, Snowden, and we hit the old historical house on 29. We had much fun although we were extremely tired since we have had all winter off and haven't been able to walk as much so we have gotten out of shape. =) Well hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping by, enjoy the beautiful weather, and have a Blessed day! IT FINALLY SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so it finally happened! It finally snowed. All the talk and all the hype and it finally happened! I couldn't quite believe it to be completely honest with you. I was shocked to wake up and see so much of it. Well the first thing I did was take some pictures. You know me I couldn't help myself. So then once we got up good and ate breakfast we then took the girls outside and boy was that some fun. Haeley has never experienced such a snow and she had a BLAST! We played for a while and then came in to let our toes and fingers unthaw and then I snuck out for a few minutes to mosey around and see what I could find to photograph. Then once I got home out we came again until I could no longer feel my toes! We have had an amazing day and I know that the girls did too. Well I thought I was one of the lucky one's and had gotten off lucky and was not going to get sick well...... I was wrong. Friday I came down with the flu and then Saturday poor Serena came down with strep throat and mono. Well if that won't enough I went back to the doctor on Monday and got an antibiotic for a sinus infection. So needless to say we all have had the CRUD! So, with all that said we are feeling better and on the mend. Hopefully we will stay that way and I have a lot of plans churning in my head of pictures I want to take I just need to find the time to get everything together and need to stop getting sick so I can do it!! Today was awesome! It's so much fun to be behind the camera but it's also another kind of fun to be in front of the camera. I have learned so much from doing these sessions with her. Not only is she an amazing photographer she is also a good teacher! So I don't have the images to post yet but as soon as I do, I will put them up so you can see once again how amazing her work is. Also for anyone who is interested in having their own GlamCouture shots done don't hesitate to call her! It awesome to go in there your old plain jane self and be made to look like a runway model. Trust me when I say this because this is coming from a girly tomboy who does not wear makeup and just bought her first pair of heels about 6 months ago!!! So trust me she does an amazing job! Ok so the other day I was driving to Lynchburg and came across the fountain that they have put there. All around it was nothing but ICE from where it has gotten so cold and the water blew on all the brush around it to make it look like a winter wonderland. I had to take pics because, one I knew it wouldn't last that long and two, it is so cool to see how it covered such a massive area just by the water falling from the air to everything around it. Ok so I was playing around going through some pictures and decided I wanted to post some of the pictures that I had made by Thomasina Metts. She is an amazing photographer and has done such an awesome job of photographing my girls. My first time meeting her and doing a session with her made me realize that there are more talented way better photographers than at these "local locations". ( I won't mention names) After using her I will never go back to one of those places and she will always (hopefully) be my photographer. Well now the holiday's are over and life can return to normal. I will miss it though. I always love the smells of Christmas and all the lights. I won't miss all the traffic, rudeness, and complete madness that the season brings. I do miss being with family and all of the "holiday traditions" that we share together. This Christmas was wonderful. The girls got some good toys and had tons of fun opening their presents. Haeley decided that she was going to open every one's presents not just her own! Ok so wanted to post some pictures that I had taken of our first snow of 2008. (I think =0). I also took some of my parents Cabin and of their fireplace while I was there. I love the look of the fire in the logs casting shadows on the rock in the back. Snow is like a gift from God. You only get to see it once in a while (if at all) and while it is falling it is the most beautiful thing outside to lay your eyes on. It's enjoyable for children and grown ups alike and it replenishes our air and our land. So hope you enjoy and mom the ones of your beautiful home are for you. Merry Christmas to everyone!

I love this time of year. All of the beautiful lights, music, and decorations that just make the season. Having kids is also so much fun at Christmas. They just believe so much and it is so magical to them. Watching them at this time of year is such a blessing and a gift, and should be treasured as I know it will not last forever. Ever since Tuesday when we got the gifts under the tree...Serena has been saying..."Mommy, can't I open just ONE!" She just gets so upset with me when I tell her no but it will surely be worth the wait. Ok so Debbie and I took a hike last Sunday to Crabtree Falls. Wow what a work out but it was absolutely AMAZING! It was so breathtaking. (literally!) Here are some recent pictures that I have taken. The pig picture is for my friend Teresa! Mom, I had to take a picture of pops on the scooter! It was funny he almost lost it like twice! The picture of the full moon was taken last Saturday. My friend Debbie and I were out in my yard for about two hours shooting that moon! It was a blast though and the pictures turned out quite well. I am now only about $300.00 away from getting my new camera! I am so excited I am like a kid at Christmas! ANYHOW hope you enjoy the pics! Take care!

Had a blast today with a couple of friends, Debbie and Tiffany. Debbie invited me along to go on a photographic journay on a farm that a couple of her friends own. I got way more than I bargained for. BEAUTIFUL! Is about all I can say. Got some great pictures and even saw a coyote. The coyote was a first for me. I have always heard people say that they are around, but I had never seen one until today and I was lucky enough to capture a picture of him. It is not the best picture because he was so far away but you can surely tell what he (or she) is from the picture. Debbie had some bad luck with her truck which I won't explain as you will be able to see it from the photographs, but luckily the situation was resolved and her truck was OK. Well hope you enjoy the pictures I know I had so much fun being there and taking them. Thanks again Debbie!

Well I bought a couple of new books on PS CS3 and now I feel really intimidated. There is so much to learn and I feel like I am drowning. I know that I can pull it off but it is going to take some time with such a massive program to try and figure out. I have learned quite a few things but still have so much more to learn. I also bought a book on macro photography which is very educational and I have learned quite a bit from that as well. I start my second photography class at the end of August so I am looking forward to that as well. I have a lot on my plate and hopefully I will be able to digest it all. Found these frogs in different spots over the past couple of days. Thanks mom for calling me when the tree frog showed up. I don't know what kind of frog the red colored one is, but he is unique none the less and had to photograph him. They are really neat amphibians. I know that sounds crazy but after owning them, I must say they are really cool little critters.

This top picture was taking at the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk. Was neat to see some of the first planes they built together and tried to fly. If you are ever in the area check it out.
